- Girl, Serpent, Thorn by Melissa Bashardoust
- Looking for Alaska by John Green
- The Sun Is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon
- An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson
These are some current book recommendations for summer!
Girl, Serpent, Thorn is a beautifully rewritten take on a classic fairytale. It mimics both a love/heartbreak story as well as a coming of age story. The characters are incredibly well-written and empowering. It does feature some darker themes, but the author handles them well.
Looking for Alaska is one of my favorite books. It’s a teen fiction novel featuring themes of friendship, love, loss, and coming of age. I recommend carefully considering whether or not you are in a good place to read this book, however. It has some triggering topics involving mental health. It also has a show on Hulu.
The Sun Is Also a Star is one of my favorite love stories. It’s unique, fun, and moving. The author has a wonderful writing style. This book is also a movie and can be found online and in stores.
An Enchantment of Ravens is a fantasy novel featuring the fae and concepts of love and artwork. It is a very fun read and an interesting twist on a common fantasy subject.
